Apparently We’re a Marine Transportation Company Now

At Clam Digger Events, we like to think we’re pretty committed to the job.
But every now and then, a day comes along that really confirms it.
Recently, we had to get our trailer out to Georgian Bay for an event, and the route there was not exactly your standard highway haul. No easy driveway. No simple pull-in. No “just punch it into Google Maps and follow the blue line.”
No — this one involved a barge.
There’s something objectively funny about seeing a bar trailer sitting on a barge in the middle of Georgian Bay and thinking, “Yeah, this checks out.” It felt a little ridiculous, a little awesome, and very on-brand for us.
Most people hear “mobile bar” and think the trailer goes from Point A to Point B on four wheels. Normally, yes. But sometimes the job calls for a few more steps... and apparently, marine transportation.
Honestly, that’s part of what makes this business fun. You end up in places you’d never expect, solving problems you definitely didn’t learn about in school, and having moments where you look around and think, “How is this actually my life right now?”
Watching our trailer head out by barge into Georgian Bay was one of those moments.
And the truth is, we love that stuff. The unusual jobs. The beautiful locations. The little bit of chaos that somehow turns into a great story later. Anyone can say they’ll go the extra mile. We apparently go the extra nautical mile too.
That’s one of the coolest parts of what we do. We get to bring the bar to places that are anything but ordinary, and sometimes getting there becomes part of the story.
So yes, if you were wondering, we really did put our trailer on a barge and send it into Georgian Bay.
Just another normal day at Clam Digger Events.
